Surveillance Exams

Beryllium Surveillance Exam:

Sanford OccMed offers medical surveillance to workers who meet the following conditions:

  • Exposure to beryllium during an emergency
  • Has received a recommendation for continued medical surveillance from a physician or other licensed health care professional
  • Expected to be exposed above the action level of 0.1ug/m3 for 30 days in a year
  • Shows signs or symptoms of CBD

The components of a beryllium surveillance exam include:

  • Beryllium medical surveillance questionnaire
  • Beryllium surveillance occupational health history form
  • OSHA respirator questionnaire review
  • Pulmonary function test (PFT)
  • Respirator clearance exam
  • Serological studies

Crane Operator Exam:

The nature of this job is physically demanding, which requires employees to be in good health and physical condition.  Our crane operator exam includes:

  • DOT test: This test is highly regulated for public safety and designed to detect physical, mental and emotional issues affecting a driver’s ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle.
  • Drug screen: Most often completed by urine sample, the drug screen must be determined negative to pass.
